FAQs
Why shall I choose ARTAS over manual procedures like FUE & FUT?
If you focus on quality & patient satisfaction in your practice ARTAS is the right choice for you, ARTAS provides 3D simulation of results, intelligent selection & harvesting of grafts, preservation of precious follicles & fast precise incision distribution with minimal scarring... the end results are far superior in terms of hair density & natural look of both donor & recipient area.
Are the results permanent?
Yes, the robot uses permanent growing hair, typically from the back of the head. Then the physician implants this hair to the thinning areas of the scalp. As this area is not susceptible to the conditions that cause male pattern baldness, the transplanted hair will last a lifetime.
Why is it vital to extract surrounding tissue with the grafts?
Stem cells responsible for follicular regrowth are located in the fatty tissue surrounding the follicular unit. Differences in survival can be directly linked to the fact stem cells are better retained in chubby grafts but trimmed away in the skinny grafts.
Does the robot cause scarring?
No. this happens with FUE when the grafts are harvested from a small area which cause thinning out but this is avoided by ARTAS artificial intelligence that decreases of the number of grafts that are taken in one area.
Is the procedure completely performed by the robot?
The process is built around the physician and enables him/her to supervise & change the current, next & future harvested grafts, it also enables the physician to select parameters of incision depth, elevation angle, hair caliber & hair density...once selected, all are automated in a robot precise performance.
Do the patients need to wear their hair long in the back of the head to cover the donor area?
ARTAS provides extremely natural looking results. After the procedure, the patients are able to wear any hair length or style with confidence.
How many sessions are needed?
Artas procedure can be done in a single session, it is up to the physician to decide if they opt to do it in more than one session.
Is the robotic hair transplant painful?
No, similar to the other hair transplantation methods, the patients are given anesthesia with a steroid to avoid swelling, along with a mix of lidocaine and marking of the regional block for the recipient sites and the donor area before harvesting the grafts.
What is the expected downtime?
Recovery time is very short. Patients can usually go back to their daily activities in a couple of days.
How long does it take for final results?
In all hair transplantation methods, transplanted hair grows naturally in phases. At approximately six months, noticeable improvement will be seen, while final results can be seen after a full year.
